Youth Training Programs – Employer Information

Develop Polk County's Future Workforce

Get seasonal help at no cost to your business!

Welcome to CareerSource Polk’s Youth Leadership Training Program Resource Page for Polk County Employers!

Thank you for your interest in participating as a host worksite for our Youth Leadership Training Program. As a host worksite, you play a vital role in helping young adults (ages 16–24) explore careers, build job skills, gain work experience, and earn income. Our Employer Worksite Toolkit will guide you through the application process and outline the requirements for participation. By providing a safe and professional learning environment, you help interns develop positive work habits and essential skills that prepare them for long-term success.

Your support makes a lasting impact, empowering the next generation to identify career paths, secure employment, and grow into future leaders.

How to Become an Approved Host Worksite

Step 1: Review and Submit the Worksite Agreement
Start by carefully reading and signing the Worksite Agreement, which outlines all requirements for becoming an approved host worksite. Once submitted, a copy of the agreement will be emailed to you. (Scroll down to access the Worksite Agreement link.)

Step 2: Attend an Employer Orientation
All prospective host worksites must attend an in-person or virtual Employer Orientation. If you apply outside of a scheduled orientation period, a virtual session will be arranged based on mutual availability with a CareerSource Polk facilitator. Orientation covers essential details needed to complete the Worksite Application.

Step 3: Complete the Worksite Application
After your agreement is reviewed and approved, you’ll receive a link to submit your Worksite Application. This form includes details about the internship roles you’re offering, job descriptions, and supervisor contact information.

Please Note: All designated supervisors will be responsible for reviewing and approving their intern’s timesheets throughout the program.

What CareerSource Polk Provides:
