Youth Internship Program

Now Accepting Applications

The Youth Internship Program is open to young adults ages 18 through 24 who are out of school and reside in Polk County. Applicants are exposed to real-world experiences to gain an understanding of the world of work.  Through this initiative, eligible young adults will garner meaningful skills through their exposure to host agencies for a duration of 10 weeks.

Eligible participants have the opportunity to select an entry-level position in a variety of industries including:

  • Clerical/Computers
  • Education/Childcare
  • Financial Services
  • Food Service
  • Government
  • Healthcare/Medical
  • Hospitality/Customer Service
  • Information Technology
  • Maintenance Services
  • Manufacturing
  • Marketing
  • Media/Entertainment
  • Real Estate/Property
  • Recreation
  • Retail/Sales

*Industries may be limited in some areas.

CareerSource Polk’s Youth Internship Program also provides mandatory workshops on job readiness, career exploration, financial literacy, and opportunities to continue education and employment.  Participants that meet the eligibility requirements including a background check and drug screen will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis depending on availability.  For more information contact Barbara Mincy at 863.508.1100 x 3327 or
