The Summer Youth Internship Program (SYIP) provides Polk County youth between the ages of 16 and 24 the opportunity to participate in a paid work experience. Selected youth work in a variety of positions with employers through out Polk County while earning a wage of $15.00 per hour. This is more than just a summer job, this is a real-world learning experience designed to expose youth to a variety of industries and potential career paths. This internship is packed with on-hands training, employability skills lessons, financial literacy awareness and exposure to a variety of industries.

High School Youth Work Experience
- Ages 16-19
- 9 weeks
- Earn $15/hr
- Work 30 hours per week
- Various Polk County worksites
Participants will gain exposure to multiple career options through on-hands experience in a position of interest.

Out-of-School Youth Work Experience
Young adults, not enrolled in high school or college, can learn more about our internship opportunities for out-of-school youth by calling 863-508-1100.

Participants will gain team-building experience, financial literacy training, work readiness training all while receiving on-hands experience in a position of interest.
